Art in the Park at Chautauqua Institution

Summer fun! On Sunday August 7th I set up my art booth at Chautauqua Institution for their annual Art in the Park. The weather was the definition of a classic summer day with the breeze blowing in from Chautauqua Lake, gracefully easing that hot August summer sun. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I offered prints, original paintings and jewelry for sale alongside fellow artists in Miller Park.

I watched my artwork and jewelry find new homes. I met supportive and charismatic people interested in all things art related. We carried on in conversation about my upcoming murals in Jamestown, NY as well as murals they have been inspired by from their own hometowns and through travel. Some visitors even offered their own personal websites to me featuring their artistic journey. My family and friends visited, sharing their excitement for the event while celebrating me on this new path of sharing my artwork at this type of venue. It was a new approach for me and a fun one at that.

Before I packed up for the day, I took a walk through Miller Park to dive into the art scene that was bustling around me. I was inspired by the passion and skill of each artist and I enjoyed the opportunity to talk to some about their inspiration and process. I’m already looking forward to next year’s festivities.
